William P. Wallace Jr., 59, of Chattanooga, died Friday, March 15, 2002, in a local health facility.
Mr. Wallace was a member of Patten Memorial AME Zion Church. He was a graduate of Howard High School, class of 1961, and Lincoln University, Chester, Pa. He also attended Columbia University graduate school in New York.
While living in Chattanooga, Mr. Wallace was affiliated with the Small Business Administration. He was formerly employed as commercial lending officer at First Tennessee Bank. He was a charter member of the Brainerd Jaycees.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Wallace Sr.
Survivors include his son, William P. (Yolanda) Wallace, Washington, D.C.; daughter, Cobin C. Wallace (Robert) Duncan, Long Island, N.Y.; grandchildren, William Wallace IV, Washington, D.C. and Ashlee Duncan, Long Island, N.Y.; mother, Gloria C. Wallace, Chattanooga; brothers, Edward D. Wallace and James A. (Priscilla) Wallace, Chattanooga; aunts, Grace C. Lowery, Chattanooga and Joan C. Cousin, Chicago, Ill.; uncles, Kenneth Chambers, Cleveland, Ohio and Thurstaon Chambers, Venice, Ill.; stepchildren, Lawrence Nash and Denise Wilson and children, Washington, D.C.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at the Trammell Chapel.
Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-7 p.m. at the Trammell Chapel of Hardwick & Sons Funeral Home.
