The American Civil Liberties Union has listed its charges for the Ten Commandments lawsuit in Hamilton County - $50,683.
The ACLU won the suit against the Hamilton County Commission, which had posted the Ten Commandments at three public buildings.
Judge Al Edgar, who ruled in favor of the ACLU, said the county would be responsible for the legal costs.
The county also owes several private attorneys who helped County Attorney Rheubin Taylor handle the case. Those costs are estimated at $30,000 to $40,000.
The county has decided not to appeal the decision, and it took down the plaques last weekend.
It is looking into possibly posting the Ten Commandments as part of a collage of historical documents.
A group recommending that approach says it will defend any lawsuits that might arise out of that action - at no cost to the county.
Charles Wysong, who heads a statewide Ten Commandments group, said his group wants to help the county with the legal expenses.
A fund that was set up to take in money for the effort netted just over $2,000.
