One person has now died from salmonella poisoning that appears to have originated at the Hixson Red Lobster.
Health officials released no other details about the person who died but did note that death only occurs in less than one percent of salmonella cases.
The Hamilton County Health Department said it is testing 224 people after receiving complaints by 162 that they became sick after eating at the restaurant.
The health department, however, has confirmed only 35 cases in people who ate at the restaurant on June 21 and 22.
Red Lobster said it will pay all medical claims and lost wages and will reimburse customers for their meals.
