Rock City Readying For Ninth Enchanted Garden of Lights

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GA -- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, as Rock City Gardens prepares for its 9th annual "Enchanted Garden of Lights,"
November 21 through January 3 nightly from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., except for Christmas Eve night. This award-winning, light extravaganza will
feature more than 25 holiday scenes that transform the gardens' natural
daytime splendor into a nocturnal fantasyland.

Visitors "See Rock City" in a whole new light, as 500,000 starbright lights illuminate the age-old rock formations along the Enchanted Trail. Select Productions International, whose earlier projects have ranged from Super Bowl revues to Disneyland galas, created the lighting spectacular that ranges from glittering fireflies to towering Christmas trees.

Visitors will enjoy two added attractions this year to the Enchanted Garden of Lights. A new Festival of Trees, sponsored by Christmas Time at the Pool
Place, will be the pathway to a new 360-foot trail expansion, relocating the popular lighted multi-media Nativity presentation.

"We constantly strive to
provide new experiences for our visitors," says Bill Chapin, president.

"This trail expansion presents us with the space to create even more holiday enchantment." A special treat each year is the "Music Under the Moon" nightly concert series. Guests can enjoy hot cocoa and listen to holiday music performed under a moonlit canopy (heated tent) of stars.

A portion of each ticket sold benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga. Admission to Rock City's Enchanted Garden of Lights is $12.95 for adults, $6.95 for children ages 3-12, and free for children aged 2 and under. Group rates, gift certificates, holiday packages and

Now in its 71st season of operation, Rock City Gardens is one of the south's oldest and most popular natural attractions and is listed as a top 5 American roadside attraction. Located atop Lookout Mountain, approximately six miles from downtown Chattanooga, Rock City is a marvel of nature featuring massive ancient rock formations, gardens with more than 400
different native plant species, and panoramic views 1,700 feet above sea
level.

Rock City Gardens is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through January 3,

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
