Chattanooga Police checked out a burglary at B&B Plumbing on National Avenue. There was only one thing missing - the guard dog.

The owner said he found a chain link fence cut and his 10-month-old black and yellow German Shepherd missing.

On E. 28th Street, police were called to handle a couple arguing because "both of them had been cheating on the other."

The man agreed to leave for the night.

Brian Johnson said he was walking along Spears Avenue toward home when two black males pulled up in a late 1990s Ford Explorer. He said they wanted his wallet.

Mr. Johnson said he replied, "--- you."

He said he then noticed they had a gun, so he started running. Three shots were fired as he hastened for cover.

At 4505B Redlands Dr., James Burroughs went over to finish a maintenance job. He noticed a red Dodge Durango parked at the back, then inside saw a black male carrying out a printer.

The man ran up some stairs and out the front door.

Mr. Burroughs got the tag number, which came back to Thrifty Car Rental.

The burglar got over $3,500 in items, including a 52" TV, a computer and a Playstation.

The owner of Mountain City Deck Builders found the rear padlock missing.

Thieves took over $2,000 in items, including a pressure washer, tools and a hydraulic jack.

Tracy Holdaway, a former Hamilton County Sheriff's deputy who moved to Huntsville, Ala., said he was in town visiting relatives when he stopped by the Hungry House on Pine Street. He said he noticed that the waitress was the girlfriend of a man he once arrested.

Mr. Holdaway said he saw the waitress spit on his hamburger. He said he then got up and left. The waitress denied spitting on his food.

Mary Hetzler said she was awakened at her Mansion Circle apartment by someone forcing the door open.

She got up and saw a male in a dark shirt exiting. Nothing was missing.

Michael Anthony Greene was getting his car washed at 2300 Wilcox Boulevard when two black males jumped in and took off.

He is missing a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer.

Mrs. Clarence Overstreet at the Family Mortuary said an anonymous caller said their hearse could be found on a street in Dalton.

It was located there - undamaged.

Thieves broke through a front window at Blimpie's on Highway 153, took the security cameras, and emptied the money from the safe.

The total loss was over $5,000, including the damage to the front and loss of the cameras and cash.

A burglar threw a rock through the front of the T&B Lounge on MLK Boulevard and made off with the cash register.

Two black males with 9 mm pistols burst into Mitche's Bar on Harrison Pike. They made everyone get on the floor.

They got away with $700, plus cash taken from customers.

Derek Smith on Willow Trace told police a burglar shattered a bedroom window, drank one of his beers, ripped the security system off the wall and broke a vase.

He said the intruder also let his dog out of the bedroom "to crap on the rug," then put his back.

Nothing was missing.
