Yeargan, Billie

Miller Bros. Retiree Was Northpark Volunteer

Billie D. Yeargan, 91, of Red Bank, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2003.

She was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area and was retired from Miller Bros. She was a volunteer at Memorial Northpark Hospital for 18 years.

She was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church and the Amythee Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Yeargan was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Yeargan; a son, Robert Doares Yeargan; parents, Bill and Carrie Doares; stepmother, Annie Doares; a brother, Jim Doares; and a sister, Martha Sigwald.

Billie is survived by four granddaughters, Christie Larkins, Pattie Douglas, Melanie Lipscomb and Julie Hughes; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Wade Doares; and sister, Margaret Cottingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Bert Jones officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2–4 and 6–8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Red Bank Baptist Church, 4000 Dayton Blvd., Red Bank, TN 37415.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
