Lookouts Outlast BayBears Winning 12-10

Pitcher John Koronka Traded To Chicago Cubs

Monday night's game against the Mobile BayBears turned into a slugfest that the Chattanooga Lookouts won, 12-10.

It was the last game left-handed starter John Koronka would pitch for Chattanooga. Following the game, the Cincinnati Reds traded Koronka to the Chicago Cubs.

Koronka's final performance for the Lookouts was not spectacular. He pitched five innings giving up six hits, six runs (all earned), walking four, and striking out out four

Stephen Smitherman traveled by bus with the team to Mobile but upon arrival caught a plane to play for Cincinnati. It was his second call-up with the Reds. In Monday's game against Milwaukee, Smitherman had a pinch hit home run in the Reds's loss to the Brewers. Another former 2003 Lookout, Dernell Stenson, hit his second homer for the Reds. Another 2003 Lookout, Ray Olmedo is a regular at shortstop for the Reds.)

The home run balls were flying at Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile Monday night.

-Pitcher Casey DeHart hit a three-run homer, his first of the year, for the Lookouts.

-Ed Encarnacion was 2-for-4 in the game including his fourth home run of the year. Encarnacion had the Lookouts only error.

-Jason Dellaero also hit his first homer for Chattanooga knocking in three runs.

Brian Anderson, playing right field, was 3-for-4 for the Lookouts.

The Reds traded Chattanooga pitcher Koronka to the Cubs for left-handed reliever Phil Norton.

They were left without a left-handed reliever when the Yankees claimed Felix Heredia off waivers earlier in the day.

Norton, who missed the 2002 season after undergoing reconstructive elbow surgery, will be available to pitch today.

Chattanooga returns Friday for their final four-game homestand. They play the Huntsville Stars.

Lady Mocs Tennis Team Remains Undefeated

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team remained undefeated with a 5-2 win at Murray State today. The Lady Mocs move to 4-0 to start the season while the Racers fall to 1-2 overall. Chattanooga is yet to lose a doubles point this season, grabbing two of three matches today. MURFREESBORO. --- UTC senior Chris Berry (Murfreesboro) took first in the men’s 3000 meter run at the Valentine Invitational at the Murphy Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee. Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
