Kinsey, Lloyd On Clark Endorsement List

Monday, January 12, 2004

Former Chattanooga Mayor Jon Kinsey and former Congresswoman Marilyn Lloyd are on a list of Tennesseans endorsing Democrat Wesley Clark for President.

The endorsements were announced jointly by Congressman Lincoln Davis, D-TN4, State Sen. Thelma Harper, D-Nashville and Johnny Hayes of Gallatin, Vice Chairman of the Clark Campaign National Steering Committee.

“This list of Tennesseans who have endorsed Wes Clark’s candidacy clearly shows that General Clark’s message and values resonate with Tennessee voters,” said Congressman Davis, the first elected Democrat in Tennessee to officially endorse General Clark.

“The people on this list are from all areas of the state, illustrating that General Clark shares our core values as Tennesseans – patriotism, faith, families, hard work and inclusiveness,” Davis said.

Added Sen. Harper, “These endorsers, who are from all walks, agree that General Clark is the person who can win Tennessee, who can win the South and who can take our values with him to the White House. He represents a higher standard of leadership we need back in Washington.”

Said Hayes, who served as finance chairman of the Gore campaign in 2000 and as finance chair for Gov. Phil Bredesen in 2002, “That it hasn’t been difficult to bring people on board to help Wes Clark proves that he is able to connect with voters and to create excitement among the electorate.”

Will Drake, director of the Clark Campaign in Tennessee, said, “General Clark is thrilled to have the support of these Tennesseans and appreciates their involvement in his campaign. Having broad-based support is key to winning Tennessee on Feb. 10 and again in November.”

Drake added that many people on the list “were with the Draft Clark movement from its earliest days in this state and are the heart of the grassroots and volunteer efforts today.”

The list of endorsers also includes 10 state representatives, three state senators, more than a dozen elected officials on the local level, educators, grassroots activists, business owners, veterans, attorneys, ministers, military spouses, firefighters, environmentalists, and students.

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor - And Response (2)

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ...
