Goodwill Selects Originality To Manage Public Relations

Friday, January 30, 2004

Chattanooga Goodwill Industries, Inc., has selected Originality Public Relations to manage the organization’s public relations, media relations and special events.

“Originality’s creativity and experience is just what we needed to achieve our goals for growing Goodwill in the Chattanooga area,” said Charlie Stamps, Vice President of Retail Operations. “We know that Originality will give our communications a clear, modern voice and that they will develop innovative ways to market Goodwill’s programs and services.”

Originality President Angela Smith, APR, said she and her colleagues are excited about the new relationship. “Goodwill has an 80-year history in Chattanooga, and it’s a very well-organized, well-established organization,” she explained. “They recognize the fact that in Chattanooga’s competitive charitable environment, nonprofits must market themselves much like for-profit businesses do.”

Ms. Smith said Originality has already begun working with Goodwill to enhance and expand its public relations efforts. “We’re looking forward to a number of new programs and events in 2004 that should result in a tremendously successful year for Goodwill.”

Goodwill Industries International is a network of 207 community-based organizations that serves people with workplace disadvantages and disabilities by providing job training and employment services, as well as job placement opportunities and post-employment support. With locations in the United States, Canada and 22 other countries, Goodwill helps people overcome barriers to employment and become independent, tax-paying members of their communities. To fund the mission, Goodwill collects donated clothing and household goods to sell in its retail stores and provide contract labor services to business and government. Information about Chattanooga Goodwill Industries, Inc., is available online at www.goodwillchatt.org.

Originality Public Relations is a new firm with a new approach to public relations and special events, officials said. The firm’s consumer, nonprofit, and business-to-business clients include SI Geosolutions (a division of SI Corporation), The Water Garden, and Siskin Children’s Institute. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
