Barbara Cantrell

Barbara Cantrell, volunteer coordinator for Parkridge Medical Center, has been recommended as the Volunteer Frist Award winner by Parkridge CEO Jerri Underwood.

CEO Underwood said, "Barbara has been a Red Cross Volunteer since 1995. Barbara’s service record clearly shows that she is reliable and consistent in her volunteer commitment where she averages over 375 hours per month.

"Barbara serves as the Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator for our hospital and she does a great job recruiting new volunteers. This year, we’ve had the misfortune of losing two of our dedicated volunteers. Barbara has taken time out of her very busy schedule to cover those days where we have lacked coverage.

"Barbara is truly devoted to the needs of patients and their families. Here are some comments that Barbara’s co-workers have made:

“Barbara always has a smile on her face and never complains when you ask her to do something.”

“Barbara often fills in for other volunteers who cannot come to work.”

“Barbara often takes time to visit with patients who do not have family so they will not be lonely.”

“Barbara is just an all around sweet person.”

“I think Barbara’s objective is to make everyone fell welcome and to spread good cheer around this hospital.”

"It is with great pride and honor that I recommend Barbara Cantrell as the Volunteer Frist Award winner. Barbara truly portrays the spirit of humanitarianism set forth by the late Dr. Frist."

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ...
