On March 30, Chris Brubeck’s “Triple Play”, a mix of blues, folk, jazz, and classical styles, will perform at Lee University’s final Presidential Concert of the year. “Triple Play” performs in intimate settings and receives boundless praise from critics and audiences worldwide.

Skidmore News called the performance “…energetic and enthusiastic.” Symphony Magazine said, "Chris Brubeck has jazz in his blood, rock in his soul and a developing career in classical composition."

“Triple Play” features Chris Brubeck on piano, electric bass, bass trombone and vocals; Peter “Madcat” Ruth on harmonica, guitar, percussion and vocals; and Joel Brown on acoustic and folk guitar and vocals.

Chris Brubeck, son of jazz legend Dave Brubeck, is a noted composer and arranger. He has previously performed with the Dave Brubeck Quartet and Crofut & Brubeck. Additionally, he recorded an album with the London Symphony Orchestra entitled From Bach to Brubeck, which also featured Joel Brown as a soloist.

Peter “Madcat” Ruth’s reputation for his ingenuity on the harmonica has gained him international notoriety. Performance Magazine has referred to him as “a harmonica virtuoso who is rapidly approaching legend status.” He began touring with Dave Brubeck in the 1970s and later went solo before teaming up with Brubeck and Brown for “Triple Play.”

The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Dixon Center on the Lee University Campus. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for senior adults and students and can be purchased at the Dixon Center box office (423) 614-8343. The box office will sell tickets March 25, 26, and 29 from 3-6 p.m. and on Tuesday, March 30 from 3 p.m. to concert time.

Visitors to Lee University are welcome and encouraged to attend the Presidential Concert Series. The Dixon Center is located at the intersection of Church and 11th Streets.

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor - And Response (2)

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ...
