Man Dies In Wreck On Mountain Creek Road

  • Saturday, April 17, 2004

The Chattanooga Police Department Traffic Division is investigating a crash early Saturday that occurred a little before 5 a.m. at 4100 Mountain Creek Road in which a local man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as 21-year-old Brian Edward Martin.

Police said the investigation thus far shows that a 1999 Honda Civic left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The driver was unrestrained.

A Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputy happened upon the crash and found the unresponsive driver. Emergency workers at the scene pronounced the driver dead.

Investigators say that speed was a factor in this crash but it is undetermined, at this time, if alcohol was involved.
