Arbuckle Keeps Grundy Alive In Class AA Baseball

Wednesday, May 26, 2004 - by Stan Crawley

MILLINGTON, Tenn. -- T.J. Arbuckle gave Dyer County a dose of the slow stuff Wednesday morning.

Changing speeds effectively, Arbuckle led Grundy County past Dyer, 7-2, in the losers bracket of the Class AA state baseball tournament.

"He was throwing off-speed, and they couldn't handle it,'' Grundy County coach Tom Melton said.

Grundy improved to 2-1 after never winning in two previous state tournament appearances.

The Yellow Jackets will face unbeaten Milan in the upper bracket of Class AA on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at the USA Baseball Stadium. If Grundy wins, it will play Milan again, and with another win would advance to the final against the winner of the lower bracket.

Arbuckle gave up only three hits, struck out 10 and walked one. He was also 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Brandon Willoughby was also 2-for-4 for Grundy (33-8) and Jeremy Melton was 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI.

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor - And Response (3)

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ...
