Martha Jean Quinn, 78, of Chattanooga died Saturday, July 10, 2004 at her home.

Martha was a native of Columbus, Mississippi and a resident of the Chattanooga area since 1945. She was a graduate of West End High School and Ward-Belmont College, in Nashville. Martha was a member of First Baptist Church Golden Gateway. She worked for Interstate Life and Accident Insurance Company, Window Display Department of Miller Brother, Associate Discount and retired from DuPont Corporation with 31 years of service.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Eaker and Mary Murray Quinn.

She is survived by one stepsister, Jane Quinn Halstead and family, Cleveland, Ohio; cousins, Brenda Murray Wendell, and family, Winter Springs, FL., Herbert F. Quinn, and family, Chattanooga, and John D. Quinn, and family, Sellersburg, IN.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Dr. Gary Carver officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 401 Golden Gateway, Chattanooga, TN 37402 or to a favorite charity.

Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
