McDowell, John Henry

John Henry McDowell, 87, of Chattanooga, died Sunday, July 18, 2004. He was a faithful member of Warren Chapel AME Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eola McDowell.

He is survived by his wife, Abbie A. McDowell; two brothers, Elroy McDowell, Newark, NJ, and William McDowell, Kansas, MO; aunt, Myrtle O’Hara; sister-in-law, Mrs. Alyce McDowell, Nashville and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at Warren Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Charlene Boone officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Family hour will be 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the McCallie Avenue Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Directors.

Wallace Rayford Lovelace, Sr, 80, of Cleveland, Tn., died on Sunday morning, February 12, 2012. He was born February 2, 1932 in Stevenson, Ala. He graduated from Kenmore High School in Akron, Oh., where he was a standout in basketball and baseball.
