Stanton, William Hugh

William Hugh Stanton, 70, of East Ridge, died on Monday, Aug. 30, 2004.

Mr. Stanton moved to this area in 1995 as an employee of Covenant Transport and later as an inspector with the Chattanooga Housing Authority.

He was a longtime resident of the Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL area, where he was an owner of Stanton's, Incorporated.

He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Stanton; eight children, Shannon Laviano, Brooksville, FL, Karin Stanton, Lansing, MI, Kristi (Brian) McAllister, Ringgold, GA, Shawn Stanton and Wade Stanton, Jr., Plant City, FL, and Adam Cecil, East Ridge; ten grandchildren, Nikki, Marshall and Kaylee Stanton, Taylor and Jordyn Gurley, Anthony and Trevor Laviano, Austin McAllister, Aerowyn and Alex Cecil; sister, Elsie (Bill) Hamilton, Lancaster, PA; brother, George Stanton, Greensboro, NC; mother-in-law, Dorothy M. Phillips, Rossville, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the East Ridge Church of God, with Pastor Terry Harris officiating.

Interment will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at National Cemetery, Chattanooga, with Rev. Rick Stallings officiating.

Visitation with the family will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to East Ridge Church of God, 1512 McBrien Road, East Ridge, TN 37412.

William A. Mayfield, Jr., 84, of Signal Mountain, died on Saturday, February 11, 2012.   Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, in the Lane Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15. Morris, Jessie F. (Chickamauga)

Jessie F. Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
