Maclellan, Charlotte Fowler

Widow of Former Provident Owner

Charlotte Fowler Maclellan, of Lookout Mountain, TN, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004. She graduated from Girls Preparatory School and Bradford Junior College. She was a member of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.

She was the widow of Hugh O. Maclellan, prominent Chattanooga businessman and philanthropist of Christian organizations.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Omen Fowler, and her brothers, John O. Fowler Jr., Richard Calvin Fowler and James Sterchi Fowler.

Mrs. Maclellan is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Anne Maclellan Heffner (Mrs. R.L. Heffner Jr.), and her son, Hugh O. Maclellan Jr.; sister, Mary (Mrs. John P.) Gaither; six grandchildren, Richard Heffner III, Thomas Maclellan Heffner, Christopher Hugh Maclellan, Catherine Maclellan Heald, Daniel Owen Maclellan and Elizabeth Maclellan, and 14 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church Missions Fund. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
