Attorney John McMahan has gotten an order of protection against his estranged wife, Katherine McMahan, saying she threatened him and his girlfriend.
Chancellor John Weaver of Knoxville signed an ex parte order. A hearing is set in Knoxville on Jan. 19 at 9:30 a.m.
Attorney McMahan earlier filed for divorce from his wife.
He said in the petition that on Dec. 29, she threatened him and his girlfriend, Lisa Pruett, "by running towards my car, pounding on the window and demanding that the window be rolled down. She was screaming (at Ms. Pruett), 'You are a whore.'
"After this assault, we drove off, and we were followed by Ms. McMahan and Ms. (Evelyn) Duval" in Ms. Duval's Volvo."
He said that on Dec. 30 at 5 a.m., Ms. McMahan "again came on my property at 415 Georgia Ave. and was screaming at me and our son. We had to call the police, and a report was made."
He said Ms. McMahan drove off in her white Infiniti before police arrived.
The attorney said in the petition, "Ms. McMahan is stalking me and my girlfriend."
