Anna Marie P. Bethea, 85, died on Sunday evening, Jan. 2, 2005.

Mrs. Bethea was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and was the coowner and operator of Bethea’s Restaurant in Brainerd for 50 years.

She was a charter member of Brainerd Presbyterian Church, where she served as a lay leader and choir member for many years. During the last few years, Mrs. Bethea was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bethea was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Bethea; her parents, John E. and Annie S. Peckinpaugh, and her sisters, Willa Mae Henderson, Georgie P. Hudlow and Glenna Davis.

She is survived by her son, Richard W. Bethea, Jr., his wife, Mildred B. Bethea, of Chattanooga; her daughter, Maria Lyn Gauntt, her husband, Hugh M. Gauntt, of Lawrenceville, GA; her grandson, Robert Hunter Bethea II; her granddaughter, Amanda Marie Gauntt; her brother, Ralph H. Hixson of Chattanooga, and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Moore Road with the Rev. Ronald Ragon officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Waldo Oran Kinser, 58, of Chatsworth, Ga., died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his residence. Mother Of Man Charged With Killing Sgt. Chapin Given Prison Sentence Of 30 Years, 6 Months

The mother of the man charged with killing Chattanooga Police Sgt. Two-Year-Old Boy With Burns Found In House With Meth Lab

Chattanooga Police on Monday received a tip regarding a meth lab and a boy who was burned at 6393 Fairview Road.  The officers found eight one-pot method labs, also known as shake-n-bakes, and a two-year-old boy who had second-degree burns on his chest and stomach.  There was also a four-year-old boy in the home who did not appear to have any injuries.  Both boys, ...
