Love And Watson Have Debate Jan. 6

Candidates To Sound Off On Local Radio Station

Friday, December 30, 2005

Rep. Sally Love (D–Polk County) Friday released the following statement after it was announced that a live radio debate with Eric Watson had been scheduled for Jan. 6:

"I would like to thank my opponent for finally agreeing to a debate. This will be a great opportunity for voters to hear where we stand on the important issues facing our district. I look forward to talking about my plans for education, continued healthcare and TennCare reform, and more economic development opportunities for Bradley, Polk, and Meigs counties. I am confident this debate will be fair and unbiased for both parties.

"While I am satisfied that one debate has been scheduled, I am eager to debate Eric in all three counties because no one area of our district is more important than the other. I will continue to press for debates in all three counties in order for the voters of this district to make an educated and informed decision before heading to the polls.

"In response to Eric’s comments in yesterday’s Cleveland Daily Banner, I would like to say that I am personally offended that Eric would call me a liar. I have conducted my campaign with honesty and integrity, and people know me to be a trustworthy member of this community. This campaign should be about the critical issues facing our families and not about name-calling or mudslinging.

"The debate has been scheduled for Friday, Jan. 6, and will be broadcast live on WCLE 104.1 from 7-8 a.m."

Rep. Love was appointed to the State House in September following the resignation of Chris Newton. Gov. Bredesen has called for a special election to be held on Jan. 12. Early voting began on Dec. 27 and continues through Jan. 7.

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor - And Response (2)

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ...
