Bredesen Is Presidential Material

Tuesday, February 08, 2005

Regarding State GOP leader Bob Davis' announcement that "Governor Bredesen is beatable," I cannot resist replying.

Although I am a Republican, I, like many other voters, crossed over in the last election for governor. My reasoning was simple. Phil Bredesen was, by every standard, the most qualified candidate.

He has proven me right since he was elected. In fact, he will be a serious contender in the next presidential primary.

A Bredesen-Frist ticket even occurred to me. Oh, one more thing, it would be best for the state Republican Party if Bob Davis would avoid using terms like "sissy pants" in his statements to the press.
