Morris, Lillian Juanita

Served As Army Medical Corpsman During WWII

Lillian Juanita Morris, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Memorial Hospital after a good fight.

Mrs. Morris was a lifelong resident of Lookout Valley. She attended Lookout Valley Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the medical corps during World War II.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gilbert R. Morris Jr.; two sons, Edward J. Whitehouse and wife, Judy, of Lookout Valley, and James L. Morris Sr. and wife, Kathy, of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Delicia Johnson, of Pensacola, Janis Hammond, of Chattanooga, Shellie Gaither, of Nashville, James L. Morris Jr., of Ringgold, GA, Kem Graham, of Ringgold, Kevin Morris, of Savannah, GA; a special person, Patti Saunders, of Ringgold; seven great-grandchildren; and nephews, Oscar A. Fryar and Raymond N. Fryar, both of Chattanooga.

A graveside funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. Lamar Moore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Wann Funeral Home.

Jessie F. Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
