Marian R. Rainwater, 86, of Chattanooga, died Tuesday morning, April 5, 2005, in a local hospital.

She was the widow of J. Linden Rainwater.

Mrs. Rainwater was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and in her active years, she spent her time outside the home in volunteer work.

She is survived by her children, Deborah White and Priscilla Smith, both of Chattanooga, Jeffery Rainwater of Las Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren, Kevin (Carissa) Kitchen, Kimberly Kitchen and Stacy (Andy) Irvin; also four great-grandchildren, Drew Irvin, Jay Irvin, Michael Irvin and Olivia Kitchen. She has three surviving brothers, Bob Raley, of Little Rock, Ark., Burch Raley, of Fayetteville, Ark., and Ed Raley, of Paragould, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Nolan officiating.

Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Soddy Daisy Considering Property Tax Increase Of Just Under 10 Cents
