Kurita Takes Her Senate Campaign To The Internet

Tuesday, August 02, 2005

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Rosalind Kurita today launched an innovative Internet advertising campaign that her staff said is the first of its kind in Tennessee politics.

"Our campaign continues to gain momentum and support," Kurita said. "This advertising strategy breaks new ground in Tennessee politics. It's a fun, exciting way to attract supporters and share the winning message of our campaign."

The strategy involves advertising on the Internet sites of Tennessee
newspapers and on heavily trafficked web logs, known as "blogs" both in Tennessee and nationally. The blog ads focus on Kurita's work as a
registered nurse and urge readers to replace "Republican doctor" Bill Frist - Tennessee's outgoing U.S. Senator - with Democratic nurse Kurita. If Kurita is elected, she will be the only nurse in the United States Senate.

Kurita recently proposed ethics reform at the Tennessee General Assembly.

Kurita's campaign has received financial support from over 400 individuals so far. She said, "It is definitely a two-person race in the Democratic primary for Tennessee's open U.S. Senate seat in 2006."

Her staff said Kurita's campaign has received financial backing from several prominent Tennessee Democrats.

"We're working hard and staying focused," Kurita said. "Winning a U.S. Senate race is a marathon, not a sprint. We're laying the groundwork today for the victory we expect next year."

Rosalind Kurita is a Democratic state senator from Clarksville. She is a
registered nurse and has owned a small business. She has been married to George Kurita for 33 years and they have three grown children. If elected, she would be the first woman in the U.S. Senate from Tennessee.

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ...
