Fire damaged a house in East Ridge early Sunday morning.
The East Ridge Fire Rescue Department responded to 1318 Laredo Ave. at 2:47 a.m. on a reported structure fire.
Under the command of Mike Williams, three engine companies, one ladder company and one support truck arrived to find heavy smoke rising from the house.
Firefighters quickly made an interior attack and were able to contain the
fire to one room of the house, keeping the damage to a minimum.
Commander Williams said the fire started due to a burning candle that was left unattended.
There was no one at home at the time of the fire and no injuries were
reported.
The estimated amount of damage is $15,000.
