City Officer Pamplin Breaks World Pullup Record

Monday, August 29, 2005

Chattanooga Officer Bobby Pamplin broke the world's record Monday for most pullups in an hour.

Police spokesman Tom Layne said, "He not only broke the record, he shattered it. The old record of 445 was beaten by 25. He did 470."

He performed the feat at the Police Services Center.

The old record of 445 had been held by a Frenchman.

Last November, Officer Pamplin attempted to break the record, but he tied it due to an on-going sickness.

But he was healthy enough Monday afternoon to topple the old mark.
