Huberty, Frieda H.

Avid Traveler, Worked For FHA and HUD

Frieda H. Huberty, 80, a resident of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 in a local hospital.

She was preceded in death by her father, Horrace Holder.

She was a longtime member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church and later attended Brainerd United Methodist Church.

Frieda was a graduate of City High School and Edmondson College. She had worked as a civilian employee in post-war Japan and was a retired federal employee with the FHA/HUD. She was an avid traveler throughout her life.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Gladys Holder, of Chattanooga, son, James M. Huberty, of Taipei, Taiwan, two nephews and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2005 in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Dennie D. Humphreys officiating. Interment will be held at 1 p.m.(EST) Monday in the Stevenson City Cemetery in Stevenson, AL.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
