Eric Watson Is Winner In District 22 House Race

Republican Eric Watson is the winner in the House District 22 race - by 654 votes.

The first-time candidate defeated Democrat Sally Love, who had been named by the Polk County Commission to replace Rep. Chris Newton. Newton had resigned after being charged and pleading guilty in the Tennessee Waltz FBI sting.

Voting was in Bradley, Meigs and Polk counties on Thursday.

Mr. Watson works at the Bradley County Sheriff's office.

Ms. Love won in Polk County, but Mr. Watson captured Meigs and won big in Bradley.

Ms. Love is a Cleveland attorney.
