Grease Fire Causes $40,000 In Damages To Holiday Hills Circle Home

Saturday, January 28, 2006

A grease fire in the kitchen wound up doing $40,000 in damage to a home on Holiday Hills Circle on Saturday morning.

The homeowner called 9-1-1 to report the grease fire. The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm at 9:08 a.m. and responded to 7721 Holiday Hills Circle with several fire companies.

Captain Charles McMillian with Quint 6 said the flames in the kitchen had penetrated into the walls and were getting into the attic as well.

Chattanooga firefighters aggressively attacked the fire in the kitchen, and headed off the flames in the attic above before they could spread any further. Captain McMillian said there was smoke, heat and water damage to the rest of the house.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was listed as accidental. The house was insured, and the residents said they had another place to stay while repairs are made on their home.

Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
