Yeah, maybe we ought to bring Zach back home. He's not a bad guy, really, but he's never really done anything with the office in all these years, either. He's good about not rocking the vote, maintaining a low profile, and just voting for whatever Frist or Bush says.

I say, he's not a bad guy, he's just void of ideas. We need to change that seat and get somebody in there with some vision who can focus on problems, conceive of some new ideas and then knows how to sell them and get something done. In a lot of jobs, not doing anything really bad is good enough. However, when it comes to a seat in the U.S. Congress it would be good to have someone who can do some things that are really good.

I view with suspicion a Congressman who seldom takes issue with the President and the whip. That's just too easy and shows no insight. No ability to grasp what the problems are and no ability to provide solutions. I'd like to see a guy in there who could maybe come up with a better solution.

We all know Zach swore he wouldn't do what he's doing and get in there and try to keep the seat forever. Are we who are in the Third District just such dullards that there's not a man among us who can offer more than Zach Wamp can?

There's something I like about this Brent Benedict guy, and that is that he's a technical guy, an electrical engineer who's done a lot of software developing. What that means is he's a problem solver. I would like to see a problem solver in the Third District seat.

Zach Wamp has never claimed to be a problem solver and he has no record of being such. He never did graduate college, didn't take any really tough courses anyway, and he's never held any jobs that require a lot of problem solving. He's mostly a salesman and he fooled around in politics a lot.

Benedict is innately the more capable of the two. He's got problem solving skills, and we've got problems.

We've got Iraq to solve, and the deficit to deal with. We have a host of problems that are beyond the abilities of Zach Wamp to address. Zach Wamp is a good guy, but he's not got the complex problem solving skills of this Bruce Benedict. Things have changed since Zach was elected. With 9/11 the world became a much more complex place. Now, the Third District needs somebody who knows problem solving. We've got a chance to get a problem solver in there. I don't care if he's Democrat or Republican, I want to see some problems solved.
