$1 Million Powerball Ticket Purchased In Hardeman County

Thursday, October 05, 2006

A player who purchased a Powerball ticket in Hickory Valley in Hardeman County used the Power Play option to become the latest Lottery player to win $1 million.

The ticket matched five white balls in last night’s Powerball drawing, which is a $200,000 prize. However, that win was increased to $1 million since the Power Play multiplier drawn was five. No additional details are available until the player claims the prize.

Last night’s winner is the 12th Tennessee Lottery player to win $1 million or more since the Lottery began selling tickets on Jan. 20. The Powerball jackpot is estimated at $20 million for the next drawing on Saturday.

In addition, the Lotto 5 jackpot surpasses one-half million as $525,000 rolls for the next drawing on Friday.

Visit www.tnlottery.com and click on “winning numbers” for complete detailed charts on both drawings.

Lotto 5 drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 10:34 p.m. CST (11:34 p.m. EST); Powerball drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. CST (10:59 p.m. EST). Drawings are held every night at 6:28 p.m. CST (7:28 p.m. EST) and mid-day at 12:28 CST (1:28 EST) Monday through Saturday for the Tennessee Lottery’s other two online games, CASH 3 and CASH 4.

The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first tickets on Jan. 20. As of June 30, the Lottery has raised more than $636 million to fund specific education programs, including college scholarships, pre-kindergarten and after-school programs.
