Chattanoogan.Com Prep Football Previews And Picks: Playoffs - First Round

Thursday, November 02, 2006

It's playoff time in Tennessee. Half of the high school football teams
playing Friday night will be suiting up for their final game of the season as the first round of the state football playoffs begin.

First and second seeded teams in each of the regions will host a third
and fourth seed from another region. Winners live to play another week,
losers pack it up and turn in uniforms.

Local teams hosting games Friday night are Tennessee Temple, South Pittsburg, Boyd-Buchanan, Tyner, Meigs Co, Notre Dame, Red Bank, Rhea County, Ooltewah and Baylor.

Re-matches of regular season games could happen in week two of the
playoffs if both teams from the same region win on Friday.

Tennessee Temple and Ooltewah are trying to preserve perfect 10-0
records.

Temple will host their game at Finley Stadium.

All playoff games will begin at 7 p.m. local time.

Occupy Chattanooga Hurts My Eyes - And Response

My wife was disgusted to see all the tents and trash on the Hamilton County Courthouse lawn when she went to renew our vehicle tags yesterday.  She described to me all the tents, dirty blankets, trash and  general filth she saw around our historic courthouse.  So last night as I sat and pondered first why the protesters were protesting, then why they were allowed ... Roy Exum: A Coach’s Jailhouse Plea

Years ago, once when famed Alabama football coach Bear Bryant was reflecting on his success, he spit a fleck of tobacco off his tongue and summed it up with a laugh, “Aw, all it boils down to is being able to talk an 18-year-old into making a decision in 15 minutes.” Since then, college recruiting has reached the point the University of Tennessee now budgets $2.3 million a year ...
