Committee Working to Save Marion Memorial Bridge

A committee is working on saving the Marion Memorial Bridge, and hopefully converting it into a pedestrian bridge.

A public meeting will be announced at a later date.

Meeting Set On Hixson Treasures From The Past Exhibit

A meeting has been set for Feb. 11 to discuss a "Hixson Treasures from the Past" exhibit. It will be at the North River Civic Center, 1009 Executive Dr., on Saturday at 10 a.m. Persons interested in helping with the exhibit are asked to attend. 1940 Ford Truck Sells For Record $71,500 At Auction

An originally restored two-toned, tan and black 1940 Ford truck sold at a Barret-Jackson auction this week for a record $71,500. The truck originally sold for a little more than $600 in 1940. Prosecutors Asking Maximum Sentence For "Evil" Mother Of Jesse Mathews

Prosecutors are asking that the mother of the man charged with killing Chattanooga Police Sgt. Tim Chapin be given the maximum possible sentence, calling Kathleen Mathews an evil manipulator who encouraged Jesse Mathews' criminal endeavors. Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
