Dunn Appointed Freshman Coordinator For Tennessee House Republican Caucus

Rep. Jason Mumpower (R-Bristol), House Republican Leader, announced Monday the appointment of Rep. Bill Dunn (R-Knoxville) as freshman coordinator for the House Republican Caucus.

"I am very grateful to Rep. Dunn for agreeing to serve the Caucus in this position," Rep. Mumpower said. "Rep. Dunn himself founded the freshman coordinator program, which has been instrumental in acclimating new members to the General Assembly and making them more effective more quickly. I look forward to working with Rep. Dunn to help the freshmen members assume their new responsibilities."

As freshman coordinator, Rep. Dunn will be available to help the 11 new Republican members of the House with any questions or concerns they may have as they become acquainted with legislative processes. He will also work to ensure the incoming legislators remain connected to the people in their home districts.

"I always find great satisfaction in working with freshmen and helping them get off to a good start," Rep. Dunn said. "I want to help them avoid some of the pitfalls that can occur when you get to Nashville so that they can work to become great legislators."

Rep. Dunn serves the 16th House District which includes a portion of Knox County.

Gormanson Charged In Traffic Death Of 20-Year-Old Christopher Blake Hicks

Dominick Gormanson, 20, has been charged in the June 29, 2012, traffic death of Christopher Blake Hicks, 20, of Ringgold. Gormanson was indicted by the Hamilton County Grand Jury on charges of vehicular homicide and reckless endangerment. The victim was a 2010 graduate of Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School.
