Teens Making an Impact! (or TMI!) is sponsoring a “Rock-n-Fashion” show on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 at the Rome City Auditorium in Rome, Ga. The entire event is being planned and executed by teenagers. TMI was founded by Darlington School senior, Morgan Myers, and has grown to include students all over northwest Georgia and beyond. Already, reserved seats have been sold to fans from all over Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, New Jersey, California and Alabama.
“Most of us have been doing shows and fund raisers for several years,” says Ms. Myers. “I felt that it was time to step up and start taking charge instead of just being a participant. I wanted to combine the things that all teens like—music, fashion and fun!”
The Rock-n-Fashion show will include a fashion show by alex boutique (Cartersville and Rome) and introduce a hot L.A. line called “Ed Hardy” by designer Christian Audigier. “It’s really big in Los Angeles, especially with the celebrities, but many people around here have never heard of the line!” smiles Ms. Myers. “We talked to Alex Boutique in Cartersville and Rome and they will now be carrying Ed Hardy.”
The fashion show will be followed by a debut performance of “Stained Pink,” a girl duo from Los Angeles. The duo is comprised of Lissa Lauria and Zoe Myers, who both recently relocated to Los Angeles. Lauria is from New York and Myers, who is also the TMI founder’s older sister, is from Rome, Ga.
Headlining the show will be the Jonas Brothers. The Jonas Brothers recently released their first CD “It’s About Time” through Columbia Records and have been featured on MTV’s Total Request Live, where their music video “Mandy” reached the #4 spot. They have been featured on The CBS Saturday Morning Show and are frequently seen on the Disney channel where their rendition of “Poor Unfortunate Souls” music video is currently playing. The Jonas Brothers’ song “Time for Me to Fly” was in the motion picture “Aquamarine.” The group has also had its music featured in the Nickelodeon TV movie Zoey 101: Spring Break-Up. They performed "(Yo Ho) A Pirate's Life for Me" for Disneymania 4, and were featured on Cartoon Network's Cartoon Cartoon Fridays program. The Jonas Brothers recorded their own version of the show's theme song for American Dragon Jake Long, which was previously sung by Mavin. They have toured with Jesse McCartney, the Backstreet Boys, The Veronicas and the Click Five, to name just a few.
