Denney, Priscilla Mary Hodges

Priscilla Mary Hodges Denney, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, died on Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at her residence. She was 92.

She was a graduate of Chattanooga High School and worked for Southern Bell Telephone. She later worked for and retired from the Chattanooga School System.

Mrs. Denney was a devout Christian and member of Chamberlain Memorial Baptist Church. She was very talented in crocheting and needlework and made that her hobby.

Mrs. Denney was the widow of John Dearing Denney, the daughter of the late Wilbur Dexter Hodges and May Bennett Hodges, and sister of the late Bennett Hodges, Col. Donald Hodges, Dexter Hodges and Milton Hodges. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Louise Denney.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Lt. Col. Floyd and 1st Lt. Carol Denney, of Dalton, GA, John and Rose Denney, of Chattanooga, Dexter and Phyllis Denney, of Davenport, FL; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, East Chapel, 404 South Moore Road.


Phillips, Mark Anthony, Sr.

Mark Anthony Phillips Sr., 54, of Chattanooga, died on February 11, 2012.  He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area.   He was a member of the Church of Christ and was employed by Alstom as a quality control inspector. Kinser, Waldo Oran (Chatsworth)

Waldo Oran Kinser, 58, of Chatsworth, Ga., died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his residence. Waldo was born May 12, 1953 in Ellijay, Ga., a son of the late Wilbur Oran and Texxie Dotson Kinser; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Kinser; and sister, Debbie Kinser. Mother Of Man Charged With Killing Sgt. Chapin Given Prison Sentence Of 30 Years, 6 Months

The mother of the man charged with killing Chattanooga Police Sgt. Michael Lamar Johnston Must Wait Almost Two More Months Before Learning Sentence
