Even though GPS’ rival school is associated with the scarlet and crimson hues, the Bruisers gladly added the color red to the usual black and blue attire on Friday, Feb. 3.

In support of the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” national campaign for programs to prevent and treat cardiovascular disease, students and faculty accessorized in red…red scarfs, red pajama pants, red shoes and socks, red earrings, red sweatshirts, and red hair ribbons.

Community service representatives and the National Honor Society sponsored the “Go Red for Women” day, accepted donations to the American Heart Association in the rotunda all week, and provided car magnets, stickers, and red dress pins for donations.

The GPS cafeteria supported the day as well, displaying Heart Smart signs for healthy choices at lunch.

Heart disease is the number one killer of women and men. The Go Red for Women message – love your heart – raises awareness of heart disease and ways to reduce the risks.

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor - And Response (2)

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ...
