Hays, Philip Joshua, Jr.

Marine Veteran Worked For U.S. Postal Service 20 Years

Philip Joshua Hays, Jr., age 91, of Chattanooga, died Monday, February 6, 2006 in a local health care facility.

He was retired from the United States Marine Corp after 20 years of service He was also retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 years of service. He was a member of First Christian Church.

His wife, Olga Hays and two brothers, Richard and Daniel Hays preceded him in death.

He is survived by his sons and one daughter-in-law, Philip Daniel and Norma Hays; Patrick W. Hays; Roy Hays all of Chattanooga; four grandchildren; one sister, Peggy Ann Catlett of Chattanooga.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the North Chapel.

Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN.

Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
