Schedules Set For Visits By 2 Superintendent Finalists

Schedules have been set for visits by two county school superintendent finalists.

Dr. Jim Scales of Texas is in town on Tuesday and Dr. Bruce Harter of Delaware on Wednesday.

The County School Board is to make its selection on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Tyner Academy.

Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
