Lanier Picks Up Papers For Bo Watson House 31 Seat

Attorney Chris Lanier, a Republican, has picked up papers for the House District 31 race.

That is the seat being vacated by Rep. Bo Watson, R-Hixson, to make a run for an open Senate seat.

Mr. Lanier organized the Growth By Choice to Fight Annexation group.

He is past president of the Citizens Taxpayers Association of Hamilton County.

Also, he is past president of the Hidden Harbor Homeowners Association and the Chattanooga Jaycees.

Mr. Lanier is past state chairman of the Tennessee Young Republicans and the Tennessee College Republicans.

He is past president of the Hamilton County Young Republicans, the Memphis State University College Republicans and the Vanderbilt University College Republicans.

He obtained his B.A. in political science from Vanderbilt University and his law degree from Memphis State University School of Law.

A Methodist, he is a pianist and composer. He is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Mr. Lanier studies piano at Cadek Conservatory.

He is married to Pamela R. Lanier, third grade teacher at Hillcrest Elementary. Their daughter, Jodie Lanier, is a senior at Notre Dame High School.

Pickup Truck Crosses To Wrong Side Of Hixson Pike: Other Driver Killed

A pickup truck went across Hixson Pike into the opposing lane of traffic on Saturday afternoon, then struck another vehicle. The driver of that car was killed.
