Clumpies Ice Cream announced Friday that it has created a unique flavor of ice cream, "Ford Tour de Georgia Peach," to be sold during the professional cycling event and traveling festival of community activities that will visit Chattanooga next week.
The Ford Tour de Georgia®, in its fourth year, is the highest ranked cycling stage race in North America according to the Union Cycliste Internationale and USA Cycling. The Tour will begin in Augusta, Ga. on Tuesday, April 18, and wind more than 600 miles across the state, finishing in Alpharetta, Ga. on Sunday, April 23. Stage Three of the race is slated to finish on the afternoon of Thursday, April 20, in Chattanooga, home of Clumpies' headquarters.
The event raises proceeds that benefit the Georgia Cancer Coalition, a state-wide network of organizations fighting cancer. As a public-private partnership, the Coalition unites organizations to support existing cancer related programs and to develop new research and prevention initiatives.
The sales of Clumpies Ford Tour de Georgia Peach ice cream will benefit Memorial Hospital's Mary Ellen Locher Breast Center, a comprehensive center that offers state of the art diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer in a patient-focused, supportive environment.

"Clumpies stepped forward with this generous gesture that will not only support the breast center financially but also bring awareness to this wonderful service."
