Romines, Allen James (Dayton)

Allen James Romines, 83, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Rhea Medical Center.

He was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, McKinley and Margie Jordan Romines; two sisters, Wanda Smith and Gertrude Romines.

He is survived by his wife, Niva Lee Romines, Dayton; son, Rick (Cindy) Romines, Dayton; three daughters, Tilda Granforc, Kay and Ted Brooks and Sandy Sheppard, all of Florida; one brother, Billy Mac Romines, Red Bank; four sisters, Theldan Long, Martha Vance, both of Spring City, TN, Margaret Morgan and Katherine Edmondson, both of Dayton; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Vaughn. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Visitation is from 1-9 p.m. Saturday at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home.

Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
