Collins, Marion Austin (South Pittsburgh)

Marion Austin Collins, 75, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, in a Chattanooga hospital.

The son of the late Calvin Buford and Willa Mae Austin Collins, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired from the service in August of 1971 after serving the Air Force in England, Scotland, Japan, Hawaii and the Marshall Islands.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Buford Collins Jr., and sister, Betty Joe Dobson.

He is survived by his wife, Viola Collins, of South Pittsburg; niece, Debbie Hicks; nephew, Stephen Dobson; stepchildren, Patricia Newell and husband, Richard, of Indian Trail, N.C., Diane Howie and husband, Eddie, of Matthews, N.C., and Jackie Kee, of Charlotte, N.C.; and special friends and caregivers, Pete and Cordie Cagle, of South Pittsburg.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. CDT Tuesday, at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with the Rev. David Hoschar officiating. Interment will be in Beene-Raulston Cemetery.

Sherline Muse Parker, 58, of Calhoun, Ga., died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mary Hunter Needham, 74, of Dalton, Ga. and formerly of Winder, Ga., died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at her residence. Mother Of Man Charged With Killing Sgt. Chapin Given Prison Sentence Of 30 Years, 6 Months

The mother of the man charged with killing Chattanooga Police Sgt.
