Hall Drops Out Of Senate Race

Tuesday, April 25, 2006

Democrat Jim Hall said he plans to drop out of the 11th District state Senate race.

The decision leaves Rep. Bo Watson, a Republican, as the heir apparent to Sen. David Fowler, who is leaving the Senate. Wes Kliner planned to run as a Republican against Rep. Watson, but he also dropped out.

Mr. Hall said, “After reviewing my ongoing commitments and responsibilities, I have decided to withdrawal my candidacy for the Eleventh Senatorial District in Tennessee. I currently have obligations to my business clients, my family and my community, as well as a personal interest in completing a book on the National Transportation and Safety Board.

"Knowing the demands of a campaign, I would have to set aside these obligations to make this race. After prayerful consideration, I have decided I do not want to make this commitment at this time.

"I greatly appreciate all of those who have volunteered to support my campaign, to make contributions and to vote for me. I hope you will remain active in the political process in Tennessee and exercise the obligation of free men and women to vote in the upcoming August and November elections. While this is not the appropriate time for me to run for office, I have been and will continue to be interested in state politics.”

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
