Norton Picks Up For House 31 Seat, Watson, Kliner, Hall Qualify For Senate

David Norton is the latest Republican candidate to jump into the race for the House 31 seat being vacated by Rep. Bo Watson.

Rep. Watson on Monday qualified for the Senate seat being given up by David Fowler. Wes Kliner, a fellow Republican, also qualified. Jim Hall qualified as a Democratic candidate for the seat.

Mr. Norton is an assistant county attorney.

He also sits as judge at Soddy-Daisy. He plans to also be a candidate for re-election to that post.

Those picking up qualifying papers for House District 31 in Hamilton County now include Mr. Norton, Jeff Lewis and Randy Fairbanks. Attorney Chris Lanier is the first to qualify.

Mary Sullivan Moore, an assistant district attorney, qualified for the General Sessions Court judge, Division II, race.

Red Bank Judge Gary Disheroon qualified, setting up a race against challenger Johnny Houston.
