Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Ed Bryant won a straw poll at the Davidson County Republican Party's annual picnic.
"Today's victory in Nashville is another sign that the grassroots in this state are behind our campaign," stated Bryant. "Davidson County was one of the top counties in terms of Republican votes in 2002, and I know that our supporters in Davidson County and the surrounding counties are fired up and are working hard to ensure a victory in the August primary."
The results of the Davidson County Republican Party's annual picnic straw poll were:
Ed Bryant 61%
Van Hilleary 25%
Bob Corker 6%
Undecided 8%
Bryant said he has won straw polls this year in Shelby, Gibson, Chester, Cheatham, Davidson, Maury, Sumner, Hawkins, Sullivan and Washington counties.
