The front desk clerk at the Wingate Inn on Shallowford Road said he was robbed by a white male armed with a tire tool.

The clerk said the man came in the front door with a blue hair net covering his face.

He demanded money be given him from the cash drawer.

The clerk said she did not get the money quick enough, so the man went to the side of the counter, jumped over it and started prying on the drawer.

The clerk said she offered to open it with a key, which she did.

The robber left in a green, late 1990s GMC truck with no tag.

The amount stolen was $400.

At the Favorite Market on Lee Highway, the clerk said a black male came in with a gray looking shirt or piece of cloth over his face. He demanded money and pointed a small-caliber semi-automatic pistol at her.

The clerk had trouble opening the register, causing the robber to hit it with his pistol.

He eventually fled with $265.

He is described as 20-25 wearing blue jeans, a black T-shirt and a white hat.

Lazaro Gonzalez told police he was robbed by a black male at knifepoint.

In the incident on E. 20th Street, he said he gave the man all he had - $13. He said he and his girlfriend were on their way to get a room for the night when the robbery occurred.

A loss control officer at J.C. Penney's at Northgate said he chased a black female around the parking lot, but she eventually got away.

He said she dropped $200 in assorted women's clothing during the chase.

Edward Collins, 36, told police he went into woods at 13th Avenue to relieve himself. He said when he stepped out, a black male known as "Black" shouted, "Watch out." He said he then was struck by a maroon Plymouth Seabreeze.

He said after he got up, he made it to the back of the car but then was struck again when the driver - an Hispanic male - backed up.

Police said they located Antonio Baker - "Black," who said Mr. Collins went running by his house and then the maroon Plymouth Seabreeze came flying by.

Black said he shouted, "Watch out, big Homie."

He said he then saw the Hispanic male run over Mr. Collins.

"Black" said "he had heard that some streetwalker had taken this Hispanic male's telephone and Mr. Collins told him he would help him get it back for money, but didn't."

A physician said the injuries to Mr. Collins were not serious.
