I met Kelvin Stamper at a Board of Education meeting where he was aggressively seeking answers to questions he had about the construction of the new East Brainerd school.
Since then, I have met him at all the meetings for the new school, in the halls of the Central Office, and at other Board meetings. In conversations with him, I know that he cares about student achievement, that he understands the teacher’s need for parent support, improved salaries, and the best working conditions possible.
Kelvin is a successful, young professional who wants to serve by actively working to make all schools better. Since his kids attend public schools in District 9 and he works in schools and on the ball fields, he knows well how important the schools are to his children’s future. He is not content to sit on the sideline and just be glad that the schools in his district are good.
I invite you to join me by keeping a strong School Board whose members are problem solvers and creative thinkers who care about kids, teachers, and parents. Vote for Kelvin Stamper on Aug. 1. He has the energy and desire to work for great schools.
