Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe 75th Birthday Party At Nestle Units

Friday, July 21, 2006

Crest Foods, Inc. (Richardson, TX) announced a celebration at the Nestle Toll House Cafés across the country this weekend. The weekend long party is to honor and celebrate 75 years of the chocolate chip cookie recipe.

A local unit is in the 400 block of Market Street.

Ruth Wakefield invented the chocolate chip cookie in the early 1930s. Experimenting in her kitchen, Ruth Wakefield chopped a Nestle chocolate bar into pieces and put the pieces in her cookie dough. She thought the chocolate would melt throughout the cookie, but instead the chocolate pieces kept their shape. The chocolate chip cookie was born! Years later Ruth Wakefield sold her recipe to Nestle, who launched the Nestle Toll House brand.

While no one is certain of the exact year the delicious cookie was invented, Nestle Toll House Café operators believe it is important to celebrate and honor the delicious cookie. That’s why July 21 -23rd all cafes will host a birthday party. For the celebration, the café give away balloons, kids party hats and kids party favors. The café will also feature the classic Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip cookie for 75 cents each! A delicious cookie is a great partner to toasted made-to-order sub and a shake or smoothie. Located downtown at 410 Market Street, our local Nestle Toll House Café & Brick House Subs is looking forward to celebrating with you this weekend!

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
