Ashley, Edna Aline Craig

Edna Aline Craig Ashley, 80, died on Monday, Aug. 21, 2006.

She had lived in the North Georgia area for most of her life and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Trenton, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Ella Craig; husband, William T. "Tom" Ashley; daughter, Brenda Aline Kennedy; stepson, William Miles Ashley; brother, Fred Lewis Craig; great-grandson, Jeffery Scott Kennedy.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Sue and Bill Carter, of Lookout Mountain; two grandchildren, Tony and Thomas Carter; two stepgrandchildren, Chris Bratcher and Amy Hennen; two great-grandchildren, Jessika Marie and Bethany Ann Carter; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Kevin and Cheyenne Burnham; and one niece, Pamela Dawn Ashley.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with the Rev. Don Moreland and Tommy Landers officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery in Lookout Mountain, Ga.

The family will begin receiving friends after 2 p.m. Monday and prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
